Have you seen that sign in stores
that says, "Back Door Friends Are Best?" Well, I'm
modifying it to say "Back Door e-Friends Are
Best!"
This month I'm inviting you personally to my own home for tea on my terrace and an organizing and decorating tips tour. (At the end of each blog post click on "Newer Post" to see each room on the tour.) And I've put "home quotes" I've collected for many years with my photos, just to give the tour a little zing! For those of you new to my e-newsletter, my hubby Steve and I recently moved into our new "urban cottage treehouse" apartment home in San Diego, CA, which I fondly refer to as our "Tea/Tee for Two Treehouse." Within about 30 days, using my skills as a former hands-on professional organizer and cottage style interior decorating consultant, and my hubby's handyman skills, "The Bechen Team" set up our new home and home office down to the cup hooks in the kitchen and the pictures on the walls. I do confess though, (since I believe in giving credit where credit is due) that during the final nine hours I did call in the decorating duo at Bon Bon Home to help me put some finishing touches on our place, as I wanted a final fresh eye for the things we have collected for over 27 years. Rosemarie and Donna from Bon Bon were great! So come on in, virtual back door e-friends from around the globe, and enjoy the tour! P.S. If you'd like more cottage style decorating tips, check out my e-book on cottage style here. And if you need more organizing tips, check out my organizing e-book here. Moving soon yourself? Here's my easy checklist for a perfectly smooth move.

I am back writing and scouting for
national decorating magazines again.
The article I wrote about dear Tina Smith's
Cherry Hill Cottage was just published in
Country Almanac magazine.

(Please do not e-mail me photos until requested.) I am looking for homes in the following styles: cottage, country, Victorian, clever painting projects for furniture or rooms, small rooms of any type decor, and any Bed & Breakfast Inns you've stayed in and loved. Also, if you have a charming cottage or country style yard, garden, urban terrace, playhouse, or patio, let me know! Also, feel free to pass along my e-mail address to any friends or family whose homes you think would be great. kathrynbechen@yahoo.com. International readers are also welcome to contact me.

As you know, I love hearing from
my readers, and I had the cutest e-mail from Kathy at
Kathy's
Cottage
this
month in response to my
own story about my husband last month. Seems
Kathy was a bit hesitant about marrying her now
husband Earl 'til he
changed the oil in her car in the dark during sub-zero
temps during a Michigan winter! That was over 25
years ago and he's still her prince! (Well, I'd marry
Earl
too if he did that for me! LOL) Seriously, Kathy has a
delightful home and garden blog, so be sure to check
it out!
I do not participate in
SPAM, so if
you do not want
to receive any more of these
e-announcements or e-newsletters, please
click on the
SafeUnsubscribelink
at the bottom of this page to be
removed from my e-mailing list.
Congrats to Kim McCole at
Daisy
Cottage for her mention in Artful
Blogging
magazine, and to
Melissa Michaels of
The Inspired Room
for her lovely blog, and to
Erin Houghton of
The Painted Garden who
will soon join blog land,
(Erin is coming to visit me
in person after having had her as a client
and e-friend for a couple of years--she's soon to take
the train to San Diego!), and
to Ruth Welter of
Artful Creations for
her new "secret PR" she's making progress
on,
and to Jennifer Froh of
Pear Street
Studios on her updated
website copy. I edited Jen's copy and wrote her new
Pear Street Studios
tagline:
...Let Us Create the "Pear-fect" Online
and Offline Marketing Image for Your Business!
Go gals go!!!
"He guides them to their desired haven." --Psalm 107:30, The Bible "Home should feel like a sweet embrace." --Kathryn Bechen "Home interprets heaven. Home is heaven for beginners." --Charles Parkhurst
When you hire me for a
writing project
or a phone consultation, I
will feature your business in an upcoming
edition of
this
newsletter, which currently goes out to
over 500
wonderful
people from the U.S., Canada, England, South Africa,
