Bare "Footnotes" :: Barefoot Executives IN ACTION!

This week, I am featuring one of the "Barefoot Executive Profiles" from my book, The Barefoot Executive Speaks Out, Volume 1.  This gal is living her dream. She works for herself, pursuing her passion and doing it all at home! She and her husband have the freedom to travel, to relocate if they choose and because of some health challenges and the recent San Diego wildfires...she's been even more grateful for the opportunity to be a "Barefoot Executive."

Be blessed in your business!

The freedom of working from home is what first motivated me to start my own home-based business in 1991 when I founded my own professional organizing firm, Organized With Ease. I wrote about how to get organized, and I also developed seminars and products. Within a short time, I found my business being featured in newspapers, and I was interviewed on TV and radio as an organizing expert. Networking with other professionals, giving speeches and seminars, and organizing home and business offices created a nice balance for me of being both in and out of my home office, and prevented isolation.

Years later I complemented my organizing skills by earning my interior decorating certificate and began a decorating website, Kathryn Bechen Designs, which I also ran from my home. My current company, Kathryn Bechen Ink, www.KathrynBechenInk.com, is the culmination of all the work I have done to date, and with my degree in English and Education, it now allows me to do what I really love: write for home and garden publications and for creative entrepreneurs like artists, decorators, and organizers. I also do PR and website phone consultations, because I love teaching others what I know and watching their businesses succeed too.

The internet has opened up a whole new world for those of us working from home. From my tiny laptop computer, often from the comfort of my bed, I have been hired to write and consult for publications and clients from several states, and I’ve even made acquaintances from overseas. I publish an e-newsletter and write a blog, and I love hearing from my readers. I’d love to hear from you too, so please sign up for my complimentary e-newsletter at my site, and when you do, you’ll receive a download of free home organizing tips.

I am also fortunate to share a home office with my husband Steve, who is the “Numbers Guy” for this “Word Lady.” He takes care of my business books and helps with computer issues. He also acts as my sounding board for business ideas and strategies. I am also assisted by my two special Scottish Fold felines, Beau & Monique.

By providing much needed writing and consulting services to others so they can also succeed, I have created joy for myself, and I feel blessed to do it from my home office.

(Barefoot Note! Kudos Kathryn for DESIGNING a life you LOVE!!)

Have a powerful and productive week!
